My Online Gen Database

I’ve actually lost track of when I first started using TNG (The Next Generation of Genealogy Software) for putting my family roots research online, but suffice it to say that it’s been at least five years. The program just gets better and better! This past Wednesday night, I did the upgrade to the latest version of TNG and it went perfectly as always. The data was set up as a standalone site and since I’m in the process of updating some things, I’ll hold off for now from posting a link.

Since a lot of my research focuses on Quaker ancestors, I’ve taken advantage of TNG’s ability to create custom event types so many of my records include things like Quaker Minutes and Meeting Transfers and the occasional Disownment.

Another update to TNG now allows records for individuals to be added to Cemeteries even when there is no photo for the headstone yet. This allows me to document those burials that I know took place in a particular cemetery even if I haven’t had a chance yet to photograph their stone.
